The  Modern Ball


An eye-catching identity, invitation suite and marketing for a major fundraising event





The Modern Ball is the San Francisco Museum of Art’s signature fundraising event, featuring a night of dinner, dancing, musical performances, and an art auction that activates different spaces in the museum.

As a designer at SFMOMA, I designed the graphic identity, marketing campaign, and signage for the 2016 event. The campaign was launched with an attention-grabbing Save the Date that took the form of a kaleidoscope that featured architectural elements to showcase the grand reopening of the museum. I developed handmade prototypes and worked with a vendor to produce these custom objects.

The 2016 event sold out during the presale period and raised record funds for museum programs.
